The didactic course 2023-2024 'Restoration & Conservation Workshop', held in the 5th year of the Architectural Engineering degree course at Al-Quds University (Lecturers: Prof. Dr. Yara Saifi, Dr. Raffaella De Marco), has been concluded.
The course dealt with the study of Palestinian heritage sites located in Ramallah, Jericho, Jerusalem, Bethlehem and Hebron. For each area, four types of architectural heritage were analysed: historic, modern, neglected, pattern.
The course aimed to develop narrative solutions for Architectural Heritage sites in the field of "phygital" heritage, producing tangible gadgets associated with virtual contents to build a user experience of the sites.
The students experimented with the use of survey data and 3D models for documentation, integrating them with image-production and video-making tools also exploiting the opportunities of Artificial Intelligence. Such tools were adopted for the communication of archival, historical and on-site research for the narration of architectural sites.

Bethlehem: Manger Square, Solomon's Pools, Mar Saba Monastery, Historical Center.
Hebron: Maqamat, Historic Center, Mamre' tree, Wadi At-Tuffah street.
Ramallah: Al Manara Square, Al Ersal Street , Al-masyoun (Al Skakene Street), Old City , Rammallah Villages (Ain Qinya, Altera, Seload ,Bet Rema ), works of Rizek Khoury.
Jericho: Temptation Mountain, Sycamore tree, Ain Al Sultan Spring, Cinema Rivoli.
Jerusalem: Lifta, Edward Said's house, main monuments, Old City.
